Chilli Paneer Gravy

minutesThis Chilli Paneer Gravy is a fried cottage cheese cubes toasted in a sweet, sour atangy sauce. Can have main course dish or side dish both.
Ingredients
Cottage Cheese (पनीर) – 200 grams
Corn Flour (कार्न फ्लोर) – 3 tbsp.
Garlic (लहसुन) – 3 cloves
Ginger (अदरक) – ½ inch
Green Chilli (हरी मिर्च) – 4
Capsicum (शिमला मिर्च) – 1 medium
Spring Pnion (हरी प्याज) – 3
Black Pepper (काली मिर्च) Powder – 1 tsp.
Black Pepper (काली मिर्च) Crushed – ½ tsp.
Red Chilli (लाल मिर्च) Powder – 1 tsp.
Celery (अजवाइन) – 2 tbsp.
Sesame Oil (तिल तेल) – 2 tbsp.
Soya Sauce – 1 tbsp.
Oil (तेल) as much required.
Water (पानी) – 2 cup
Sugar (चीनी) as required.
Salt as per taste.
Directions
- Dice cottage cheese (पनीर). Chop spring onion (हरी प्याज), ginger (अदरक), and garlic (लहसुन). Slice capsicum (शिमला मिर्च). Slit green chillies (हरी मिर्च). Dissolve 1 tbsp. cornflour (कार्न फ्लोर) in water. Keep aside.
- In a bowl mix diced cottage cheese (पनीर), ½ tsp. black pepper (काली मिर्च) powder, 2 tbsp. cornflour (कार्न फ्लोर) and salt as per taste.
- Deep fry this coated cottage cheese (पनीर) till done, don’t golden brown. Keep aside.
- Heat sesame (तिल) oil in heavy base pan and add chopped spring onions (हरी प्याज); sauté till spring onions (हरी प्याज) become translucent.
- Now add chopped ginger (अदरक), garlic (लहसुन) and sauté till raw aroma goes away.
- After that add sliced capsicum (शिमला मिर्च) slit green chillies (हरी मिर्च). Sauté till capsicum (शिमला मिर्च) half cooked.
- Add crushed black pepper (काली मिर्च), celery (अजवाइन) and pour water in it. Mix well.
- Add soy sauce, pinch of sugar, ½ tsp. black pepper (काली मिर्च) powder, red chilli (लाल मिर्च) powder and salt as per taste. Cook simmers for 2 minutes.
- Add cornflour (कार्न फ्लोर) water in this mixture, mix well and cook till gravy thickens.
- Add fried cottage cheese (पनीर) and cook simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green part of spring onion (हरी प्याज) and serve hot with fried rice or chowmin.
