Ingredients
Tamarind (рдЗрдорд▓реА) – 100 grams
Jaggery (рдЧреБрдбрд╝) – 100 grams
Cumin (рдЬреАрд░рд╛) powder – 1/4 tsp.
Black salt (рдХрд╛рд▓рд╛ рдирдордХ) – 1/4 tsp.
Raisins (рдХрд┐рд╢рдорд┐рд╢) – 1 hand full (optional)
Water (рдкрд╛рдиреА) as much required.
Salt (рдирдордХ)as per taste. (optional)
Directions
- Boil 1 cup water, turn off the heat and add tamarind (рдЗрдорд▓реА) in this water.
- Cover and keep it a side for 5-10 minutes until tamarind (рдЗрдорд▓реА) goes soften.
- Put this pan cover on heat and cook for next 10-15 minutes, stir in-between.
- Now turn off the heat and let this mixture cool in room temperature.
- In-between grate jaggery (рдЧреБрдбрд╝) with the help of grater.
- When water and tamarind (рдЗрдорд▓реА) mixture cool enough to handle. With the help of sieve (рдЫрд▓рдиреА) strain this mixture to remove tamarind (рдЗрдорд▓реА) waste.
- Now again put this pulp mixture on heat and add grated jaggery (рдЧреБрдбрд╝). Cook until jaggery (рдЧреБрдбрд╝) melted completely. Stir constantly.
- Now turn off the heat and add red chilli (рд▓рд╛рд▓ рдорд┐рд░реНрдЪ) powder, cumin (рдЬреАрд░рд╛) powder, black salt (рдХрд╛рд▓рд╛ рдирдордХ) and salt (рдирдордХ) to taste (if required). If you want add a handful of raisins (рдХрд┐рд╢рдорд┐рд╢).
- Let it cool completely in room temperature and serve with your Pakora, samosa or any evening snack.
