Khoya Barfi

A traditional Indian sweet called barfi. Barfi is of many kinds a kaju barfi, coconut barfi, malai barfi and many more; but khoya barfi is the ever famous and one of the oldest barfi. Khoya mean mava is made up by condensing milk over a low heat, when milk becomes thicken enough then its called mava (khoya). Making mava is slow process but when it’s come out, all you your affects count. Making mava at home is some other day, now khoya barfi. It is not necessary you make mava at home, now in India it can available in sweet shops easily.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Dissolve saffron in the 1tsp. milk. Keep a side.
  2. Add sugar in Mava (खोया) or milk & continuously stir on the medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  3. Add cardamoms powder & saffron.
  4. Let it cook for ½ min.
  5. Transfer immediately to a greased plate.
  6. Allow to set for 2 min.
  7. Garnish with nuts, cut them desired shaped pieces. Or use decorative molds.

Notes

• If you using milk: cook the milk till it becomes ½ quantity (almost creamy).
